Three-channel Zigbee Discrete Input Module JetHome WS7
Hint
The module can be purchased from the manufacturer’s website: http://jethome.ru/ws7/
The Triple Channel Zigbee digital input module JetHome WS7 is designed to connect to sensors with dry contact outputs such as switches, leak detectors, reed switches, etc.
The device allows you to turn an ordinary wall switch with the number of keys from 1 to 3 into a Zigbee smart switch.
The compact size of the device allows it to be placed in the installation box along with the switch, and the low current consumption will not allow you to maintain such a switch (change the battery) for several years.
Main Features
Modern microcontroller with low power consumption TI CC2652R1.
Supports the Zigbee 3.0 protocol.
Support for OTA updates.
Maximum transmitter power 5 dBm.
Low power consumption in sleep mode. Single-cell CR2477 operation up to 3 years.
3 inputs dry contact for connecting sensors (switch keys).
Customizable operating modes of inputs.
Note
The approximate maximum battery life is given.
The actual battery life depends on the activity of using the device, the number of update procedures, the ambient temperature, etc.
Dimensions and weight of the device
Enclosure dimensions: 42 x 41 x 15 mm.
Pin lengths for connecting contacts: 100 mm.
Weight with battery CR2477: 30 г.
Software
LEDs
There are two LEDs on the device board to indicate the status and mode of operation of the device.
Red LED (Status LED):
Event indication for inputs (see Operation modes). The duration of glow is 50 ms.
Indication of Zigbee network connection mode. Blinks at a frequency of 1 Hz.
Indicates logout from the Zigbee network. The duration of the light is 1 second.
Blue LED (Mode LED):
Operating mode indication (see Operation modes)
Operation modes
The device supports two modes of operation:
Operation with switches without key fixation. This mode transmits single click, double click events.
Operation with switches with key locking. In this mode the events are transmitted: hold (key is pressed), release (key is released).
The operating mode is switched by double pressing the service button on the device body. The blue LED indicates that the operating mode is on:
1 flash - operation mode 1;
2 flashes - operation mode 2.
Mounting
Only the dry contact outputs can be connected to the device.
Warning
When connecting the device to the switch, make sure that no other wires (electrical wiring) are connected to it.
If connected incorrectly, the device may be rendered inoperable.
Example of connecting a device to a three-way switch:
When installing the device in a wall mount box, it is recommended to move the antenna out of the wall mount box for better reception.
Note
The unit is shipped with a CR2477 battery installed.
An insulating gasket is installed in the device to prevent premature discharge of the battery.
To turn on the new device, remove the yellow insulating gasket protruding from the housing.
Double-click the button on the device body to select the desired operating mode (see Operation modes).
Connecting to a Zigbee network
Note
Before connecting a device to the Zigbee network, make sure that the Zigbee coordinator is allowed to connect new devices.
To connect an unconnected device to the Coordinator, press and hold down the button on the housing for 5 seconds. The red LED will light up and start flashing, indicating the start of the connection procedure to the coordinator. When the connection to the coordinator is successful, the red LED will turn off.
To disconnect from the Coordinator, also press and hold for 5 seconds the button on the housing. The device will be disconnected from the Coordinator. The red LED will blink once.
Operating conditions
Ambient temperature: 0..+40 С.
Relative humidity up to 80% without condensation.
Closed explosion-proof rooms without aggressive vapors and gases.
Features
Starting with firmware version v.9, the device supports direct linking (Zigbee binding) with other Zigbee devices via a OnOff cluster.
